Baltimore Ravens 2014 draft picks

With today’s 4 compensatory picks that were awarded to the Baltimore Ravens, it brings the total number of draft picks to 8.  Here is where they will be:

17 – round 1
48 –  round 2
79  – round 3
99 – round 3 (compensatory)
134 – round 4 (compensatory)
138  –  round 4 (compensatory)
175 – round 5 (compensatory)
193 – round 6

Compensatory picks cannot be traded, so the Ravens must pick players at those designated slots.  They received the 4 picks for the departures of Dannell Ellerbe, Paul Kruger, Ed Reed and Cary Williams.  The Ravens also received a 7th round draft pick in 2015 from the Miami Dolphins, for the Bryant McKinnie trade.

It is truly outstanding that the Ravens get to pick 4 of the top 100 players in the upcoming NFL draft, which will be held between May 8 – May 10.  Ozzie Newsome, Eric DeCosta and the rest of the Ravens scouting department should be able to find a capable free safety, right tackle, tight end, running back, inside linebacker, cornerback, as well as some players that will drop regardless of position.  I can also see them taking a quarterback that drops at some point, with either their 5th or 6th round draft pick.
